The end of another month means only one thing for us bloggers, a new set of favourite products. This is without doubt my favourite time of year, I love the dark cosy nights, the spicy sweet scents and warm fashionable layers. So my preferred products for this month are definitely in keeping with those themes and I have a few little added treats in there too!
I’m one of those unlucky people who have to wash their hair everyday. Over the years I’ve tried to extend the time between washes, trying new products and a mix of dry shampoos but nothing puts me in a bad mood more than unclean hair. I simply can’t do it. It also doesn’t help the fact that if I leave my hair to dry naturally, it ends up in a big ball of frizz. Sadly my hair does go through a lot on a daily basis. To counteract all the damage, I’ve recently been looking into haircare products of the organic/sulfate-free variety to see if any products might be able to make my hair last longer or become less damaged and I’ve found just the thing I’ve been looking for. It doesn’t come cheap, but the Rahua Rainforest Grown Shampoo* certainly does the job.
Usually we try keep the negativity to a low level here on Beauty Aesthetic, there’s enough of that out there in the world. Every now and then I find it helpful to know which products haven’t met others expectations and if something that’s been hyped by many isn’t all that great. I find it’s quite good to get a balanced opinion on products before purchasing, especially if it’s being raved about elsewhere. Usually if I find products aren’t working out for me, I’ll pass them onto friends and family so they don’t hang around for too long. However, I’ve managed to pick out 6 products I’ve tried to persevere with but haven’t lived up to the hype.
Recently we were lucky enough to be invited to interview Matthew Curtis, TRESemmé’s Lead Hair Stylist. With Autumn and Fashion Week just around the corner, we asked him a couple of questions on what to expect, haircare wise, through the next few months.
I wish I was one of those lucky people who could let their hair air dry and be left with perfect, frizz free hair. Sadly it isn’t the case. If left to air dry, my long, wavy, thick hair can be quite unforgiving and before you know it I have the monica from friends thing going on. As much as I’d love perfect bouncy curls, in the mornings I just want my hair to be dry and walk straight out the door. No straighteners or tongs in sight. If I’m in a rush or I simply can’t be bothered to do anything time consuming I have a couple of products I rely on to speed up the hair care process.
